Dennis, Emily, Latisha, Maria Conception...

Now wait a minute. I'm so confused. We're suffering from Tropical depression ourselves. Must be all the ducking and dodging we're doing to get away from these storms. I think plastic garbage bags and duct tape is on the grocery list this week. Now just to figure out how to get the darn power bill down from 200.00 a month. I think we'dbe cooler if we shut the air off ( it never cycles or stops running) Maybe if we chase the cats around that will create a breeze. feel sorry for the people with no air and 90 degrees up North. What song is it hat has the words " we're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave?" I've been singing that line for years, but dont know the rest of the song. Will someone please help? thanks and please send ice and pictures of snow as well, Thanks!

the aftermath

This kinda loses its appeal because the blog updates overnight. Used to be in the early days the blog would update right away or within a few minutes. No so now. But here goes anyway.

Phew! We dodged another bullet. Our thoughts and prayers are with the folks up in the Panhandle. Saturday night we were supposed it get high winds and storms. They told everyone to be in our houses by 6. Well at 8:00pm we were in Walmart with about 200 other people.
we were all very lucky that it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be.

I bought some more flashlights and some batteries. People were running around buying everything that wasn't nailed down. That was crazy. People with shopping carts full of food. And I said to G, the first thing that happens is they take all that food home put it in the fridge and the power goes out. I'm so glad they put comfort food on the hurricane supply list. Needless to say, the chip/ snack aisle was empty.

Don't forget the extra Toilet paper! Oh yeah, and there's another tropical depression in the Atlantic. We'd better get some canned goods too.
